Brahma Temple Pushkar
About Brahma Temple Pushkar
The Brahma Temple in Pushkar is one of the rarest and most significant temples in Hinduism, dedicated to Brahma the creator god. According to legend, Brahma himself chose this site to perform a great yagna and the temple was established here. A curse by his first wife Saraswati decreed that Brahma would only be worshipped in Pushkar, which is why this remains virtually the only Brahma temple in the world. The marble structure is adorned with silver coins and identified by its distinctive red spire. The inner sanctum houses a four-faced idol of Lord Brahma. Shoes, bags, and cameras must be left outside. The evening aarti here is especially atmospheric.
