Coronation Bridge

NH 31A, Sevoke, Siliguri, West Bengal 734005

About Coronation Bridge

The Coronation Bridge, also known as Sevoke Bridge, was built in 1930 to commemorate the coronation of King George V. It spans the Teesta River on NH 31A, the main road connecting Siliguri to Kalimpong and Darjeeling, and remains one of the most photographed landmarks in North Bengal.

The bridge is a fine example of British colonial engineering - a single-span arch structure that has withstood decades of Himalayan river flow. The surrounding landscape of forested hills, the rushing Teesta below, and views towards the Himalayan foothills make it a compelling stop. The Sevokeshwari Kali Mandir sits nearby on the hillside above the river.

The bridge lies about 26 km from Siliguri town on the Sevoke Road. Easily combined with a visit to the Kali Mandir on the same trip.
