Thangsning

Thangsning is a quiet hidden waterfall in Thangsning village, about 23 km from Shillong near the Smit/Mawryngkneng area of the East Khasi Hills. Known locally as Lwai Falls, it requires a short walk from the village through open meadows and bamboo-forested paths to reach. The falls cascade over rocks surrounded by undisturbed green forest with no crowds, no entry fees, and no infrastructure. It is best combined with a visit to nearby Laitlum Canyon for a fuller exploration of the Smit valley area.
