Serenity Beach

Serenity Beach is located about 10 km north of Pondicherry city near the village of Kottakuppam. It is far quieter and more natural than the Promenade and attracts visitors who want a more authentic beach experience. The beach is lined with fishing boats and backed by coconut groves, and the surrounding area retains the character of a traditional coastal Tamil village. Serenity Beach is one of the best surf spots in South India, with consistent waves making it popular with beginner and intermediate surfers. Several surf schools operate here. Sunrise at Serenity Beach is particularly beautiful with the golden light hitting the water and the fishing fleet heading out.
