Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach lives up to its name as one of the cleanest and most unspoiled beaches near Pondicherry. Located about 8 km from the city centre near the mouth of the Chunnambar backwaters, the beach can only be reached by a short motorboat ride from the Chunnambar Boat House. The journey through the backwaters is itself part of the experience, passing through mangroves and fishing villages. The beach has fine golden sand, clear water, and a calm atmosphere without the crowds of the Promenade. Beach shacks serve food and water sports including parasailing, banana boat rides, and swimming are available. It is best visited on weekdays to avoid the weekend crowds.
