Snow View Point

Snow View Point is Nainital's most popular viewpoint, perched at 2,270 metres on a hill above Mallital. On clear days - typically October to March - it offers unobstructed views of Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi at 7,816 metres (the second highest peak in India), Trishul, and Nanda Kot.

The point is accessible by the Nainital Aerial Ropeway, one of the fastest in India, which covers the distance from Mallital in under 5 minutes. It can also be reached on foot or by horse. A small temple at the summit is dedicated to Dev Mundi and houses idols of Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva, and Lord Rama.

Best visited early morning before 9 AM when skies are clearest. Cloud cover increases through the day, especially in summer. Avoid July to September during monsoon when views are obscured.
