About Panna National Park
Panna National Park near Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh is a beautiful tiger reserve known for its rocky terrain, waterfalls, and the Ken River gorge cutting through the park. The park covers 543 sq km of dry deciduous forest and is one of the few places where the Ken River crocodile gharial can still be seen. Panna achieved remarkable success with its tiger reintroduction programme after local extinction in 2009 — tigers were successfully reintroduced and the population has recovered significantly. The park also has leopards, vultures, sloth bears, and a rich bird life. Boat safaris on the Ken River are a unique feature.
