Mansa Devi Temple
About Mansa Devi Temple
Mansa Devi Temple sits atop Bilwa Parvat in the Shivalik hills and is dedicated to Goddess Mansa Devi, believed to be a form of Shakti who emerged from the mind of Lord Shiva. Mansa means wish and the goddess is said to fulfil the sincere desires of her devotees. It is one of the Panch Tirth, the five sacred pilgrimages of Haridwar, and a Siddh Peeth where prayers are considered especially potent. The cable car ride up offers panoramic views of the Ganga, Haridwar city, and the plains stretching to the horizon. Pilgrims tie threads on trees in the temple complex as a symbol of their wishes.
