About Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace
Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, located near the Kalasipalya bus stand, is a magnificent example of Indo-Islamic architecture and served as the summer residence of the Mysorean ruler. Completed in 1791, the two-story structure is built entirely of teakwood and is adorned with elegant pillars, arches, and balconies. The walls feature beautiful floral motifs, and the ground floor houses a small museum showcasing artifacts, paintings, and sketches from the era. It remains a significant historical landmark, offering a glimpse into the regal lifestyle and artistic heritage of 18th-century Bangalore.
